About Us

The goals of the Bureau are to promote literacy and the art of writing by connecting vibrant reading communities with our wealth of talented authors--whether to discuss a book, publication, related topic, or the League. With approximately 1,500 members, the Writers' League of Texas is the nation's second-largest organization of writers. Beginners to award-winning authors of all genres benefit from the guidance, resources, and support the League offers.

How to Request a Speaker

For a list of the Bureau's participating authors by genre, contact the League office, wlt@writersleague.org or 512.499.8914. Hours are 10 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday. Go to Scheduling Tips for information on organization eligibility, contact procedures, planning, agenda, publicity, cancellations, and speaker evaluations.

How to Enroll (League Members Only)

The Speakers Bureau is a membership benefit that provides marketing support for published members of all genres. League members with current membership are eligible to enroll in the Bureau at no additional fee. We encourage you to for quick processing. Read our list of guidelines for more information and register online .
