Summer Writing Academy Why languish during the lazy days
of summer when you can spend time fine-tuning your craft at the Writers' League
of Texas Summer Writing Academy? Top-notch writers in their genres will teach
this week-long series of intensive writing classes at Sul Ross University, in
West Texas. Don't miss this opportunity to receive hands-on instruction in this

University in Alpine, Texas, located near Marfa, Fort Davis, and Big Bend National
Park. This is a wonderful opportunity to sharpen your writing skills and explore
the beautiful, rugged terrain of West Texas.

Class Format
Registrants in the Academy can enroll in one of four
classes. Each class meets Monday
through Friday, July 14 - 18 from 10 AM to 4:00 PM (with
a 1 hour break each day for lunch). Classes are limited
to 20 students each.

Accommations & Dining
On-Campus Residence Hall
The deadline for making on-campus room reservations
is July 9. Accommodations are available on campus at
the Lobo Village 2 residence hall at the following rates:
· Double occupancy: $30 per person per night
· Private room: $60 per person per night
· Linen service: $10 additional per person per
night (includes 1 blanket, 2 flat sheets, 1 pillow with
pillowcase, 2 washcloths, and 2 bath towels; linens
will be replenished every 2nd day)
Accommodations are available from Saturday, July 12,
through Saturday, July 19.
Meal Service
Meals are available on campus in the University Center
dining area on a pay-as-you-go basis:
$4.50 for breakfast (7 to 9 a.m.)
$5.50 for lunch (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
$6.50 for dinner (5 to 7 p.m. for dinner)
Other Details
Gym Access
Access to the gym, pool, and weight and cardio rooms
at the Graves-Pierce Complex is available for $5 per
day. Passes can be purchased on-site. For more details,

Internet Access
Free wireless Internet access is available at the SRSU
University Center and the Library. Internet access in
the residence hall rooms is free but requires a CAT-5
cable (guests must provide their own cable).
