Letters from the Program Director: Kicking off the Fall the Right Way

Hello, writers!

In order to write a good story, you must understand the elements of craft. How does style influence the story you’re trying to tell? How do tone and voice? How do you keep readers situated in a time and place? How do you keep a story moving? All of these questions seem pretty simple, but when you’re in a mess of pages, it’s easy to get lost. Whether you’re just starting out with fiction writing or you have several books or stories under your sleeve, having a fundamental understanding of fiction craft elements will only make you a better writer.

That’s why we’re excited to kick off the fall line-up of classes with Introduction to Fiction Writing: A Crash Course on Craft” with James Wade on Saturday, September 3rd. If you’re want to improve your fiction writing and learn more about craft elements, this class is for you.

All the best,
Sam Babiak
Program Director
