WLT All Member Meet-up – Tyler, TX

Join us on Saturday, October 28 for the WLT All Member Meet-up in Tyler, TX. This in-person meet-up will start at 3:00 PM CDT at La Madeleine in the private room and will be open to all WLT members and any other writers who want to join in (so you can bring your other writer friends, the more, the merrier!). This meet-up is meant to bring as many writers together as we can, so while there will be no formal program, there will be games, giveaways, conversation, and community!

Maya Golden is an Associated Press winning and Emmy-nominated freelance journalist in Tyler, Texas where her foundation, 1 in 3 Foundation, serves East Texas. Her memoir, The Return Trip, is set to be released on November 14 from Rising Action Publishing Co. Her first novel, a political thriller, The Senator, will release in April 2025, also through Rising Action Publishing Co. For Newsweek, she has written about women in sports journalism. For Salon, she's written about fandoms and healing, for Insider, she's written about addiction, and for Black Girl Nerds, she's written about Complex PTSD, dissociative disorders, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University.
Dana Wayne fulfilled a lifelong dream to become a published author at the age of sixty-six with the release of her first book, Secrets of The Heart. Since then, she has self-published five more highly regarded and award-winning novels and a cookbook. Among her work’s many awards is the prestigious international Best Indie Book Award for Contemporary Romance 2021, the 2022 Bronze Medal for Contemporary Romance from Readers Favorite, and a 2022 Quarter-finalist in BookLife Prize Contest and two Finalist awards in Page Turner Book Awards 2023. A strong advocate for new writers, she started a podcast in 2020 called A Writers Life, where she shares her experiences and provides tips on writing, inspiration, and education. A sixth-generation Texan, she still resides in the Piney Woods. She is a sought-after speaker and a frequent guest on various writing blogs. A die-hard romantic, her heart-warming stories are filled with strong women, second chances, and happily ever after. When she isn’t writing or spending time with family, she is an avid crafter, especially Christmas- related items, her favorite being tabletop Christmas trees, a craft she learned from her mother. She is a long-time member of the Writers League of Texas, East Texas Writers Association, Northeast Texas Writers Association, East Texas Writers Guild, and Authors Marketing Guild, LLC.
