Gathering information from experts can be both a crucial part of nonfiction writing and an important tool for fiction writing research.
Whether you are writing nonfiction or researching details to give your fiction the ring of truth, at some point in the storytelling process you may benefit from sitting down with experts to uncover facts that can bring your narrative to life.
In this presentation, we will review best practices in interviewing techniques, including crafting effective questions, how to dig up gold nuggets of information, ways to increase trauma and cultural awareness skills, strategies to handle challenges, and tips for capturing voice.
TUNE IN IF:
- You want to learn the tips and tricks of successful interviewing.
- You are writing a non-fiction book, short story, or journal article where another person’s perspective is important to rounding out your narrative.
- You are writing a novel with characters who have lived experiences different from your own.
