The One Page Salon (called “the best literary evening in town” by the Austin American-Statesman) is back in-person in Austin, TX, and we’re excited to kick-off the New Year in OPS style on January 3!
Four outstanding writers will read one page from a work in progress – which means the audience will be among the first to hear original new material from these talented folks – and the brilliant and funny (and brilliantly funny) Owen Egerton will emcee.
Our distinguished readers for the night: Hilarious essayist, artist, and debut novelist Dale Bridges; crime-mind, noir writer, and editor of the forthcoming Austin Noir Scott Montgomery; book reviewer, writer, and WLT board member Amanda Moore; and poet, actor, and jazz musician Spencer Mirabal!
For those of you in the Austin area who have been itching for a writerly in-person event, you don’t want to miss this one. No need to RSVP, just show up ready to celebrate the start of the year with your writing community. We hope to see you there!
Owen Egerton is the writer/director of three feature films: Follow, Blood Fest, and Mercy Black which premiered on Netflix this past spring. As a screenwriter, Egerton has written for Fox, Disney, and Warner Brothers, and HBO. He’s written several novels including The Book of Harold the Illegitimate Son of God and Hollow, which was named one of the Best Books of 2017 by NPR. Egerton is also one of the comics behind the Alamo Drafthouse’s Master Pancake Theater.
