The One Page Salon (called “the best literary evening in town” by the Austin American-Statesman) is back in-person in Austin, TX, and we’re excited to host a special WLT edition in December – one last hoorah in 2022!
Five outstanding writers will read one page from a work in progress – which means the audience will be among the first to hear original new material from these talented folks – and the brilliant and funny (and brilliantly funny) Owen Egerton will emcee.
For this special WLT edition of the One Page Salon, we’ve selected writers connected to our programs & services in celebration of all things WLT. This line-up is, well, pretty freaking amazing and we feel so lucky to have them join us for this special night:
Maurice Chammah is the author of Let the Lord Sort Them: The Rise and Fall of the Death Penalty – winner of the 2021 WLT Book Award for Nonfiction (among many other accolades).
Becka Oliver is a former literary agent and current Executive Director of the WLT.
Damilola Oyedele is one of our 2022 WLT Fellows and will be sharing a page from the novel she’s been working on during this fellowship year.
John Pipkin is the author of several novels, most recently The Blind Astronomer’s Daughter, and is a frequent instructor and former Executive Director of the WLT.
Kian Zozobrado is a full-time and freelance writer who currently serves (brilliantly! we are so lucky to have them!) as the WLT’s Board President.
For those of you in the Austin area who have been itching for a writerly in-person event, you don’t want to miss this one. No need to RSVP, just show up ready to celebrate the end of the year with your writing community. We hope to see you there!
