Suzan-Lori Parks Invites Austin to “Watch Me Work” at ZACH Theater- Tonight!
Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks will be at ZACH Theatre tonight, March 4th, staging a performance of her “Watch Me Work” creative sessions. The audience is invited to watch Parks as she creates her newest writing project – or to share the space and experience by doing some writing as well. We highly recommend bringing some creative work with you- the collective energy in that room is amazing and something you’ll definitely want to tap into! The last 15 minutes of the performance will be open for Parks to answer questions from the audience about their own work and their creative process. The event takes place in the Nowlin Rehearsal Studio and is free and open to the public. For more information or to see the results of earlier sessions, check out ZACH Theatre’s blog.
The Knight Agency Launches a Speed Dating Contest to Find a New Client
Two agents (and sisters) at the Knight Agent will team up for a speed dating contest to find their next client on March 7th. The agency will open the contest with a blog post. Writers can enter their names in the comments section of that post from 12 p.m. EST to 1 p.m. EST that same day. The agency will randomly select 125 contestants and read four rounds of virtual submissions to find the winner. Last year’s grand prize winner signed with the agency– and a few weeks later, so did one of the runners-up! The future of agent submissions? Maybe not. But a lot of fun and a unique chance to sign with a great agency? Definitely! Since its founding in 1996, the Knight Agency has represented more than 2,000 titles. For more information about Knight, check out their website. Or go straight to the contest.
