The Fifth Annual African American Book Festival
This event takes place at the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center in Austin next weekend Friday June 24- Saturday June 25, kicking off on Friday evening with a welcome reception from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Longtime WLT member Evelyn Palfrey, author of Going Home, will appear on a panel with Rosalyn Story discussing books that flow from Hurricane Katrina on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. For full info on the festival, click here.
Call for Contest Submissions: How Has Film Influenced You?
WRITERS ON THE INFLUENCE OF CINEMA, an upcoming ebook anthology from Calavera Books featuring essays by Thelma Adams, Robin Antalek, Sean Beaudoin, Elizabeth Eslami, Greg Olear, Neal Pollack, Richard Cox and others with proceeds benefitting Joplin Schools Tornado Relief Fund, seeks contest submissions on how film has influenced your work.
