Give Back to the WLT

Happy Holidays!

The weather is being sporadic– sometimes freezing, sometimes pleasantly sunny– and in Texas, we understand that means the winter season is only a jump, hop, and a skip away. This time of year is always slower for writers. We unravel to spend time with loved ones and catch up with end-of-the-year resolutions. We take our time to purchase holiday gifts or learn new recipes to impress and satisfy our loved ones. It can get hectic, overly emotional; but this can be the most magical time of year as well.

We’d like to wish you and yours happy holidays. We invite you to remember us this holiday season or as part of your tax planning for 2009. Your generosity can ensure that the WLT can continue to meet your needs as a writer and support you with a creative community of fellow writers, no matter where you are in your writing career or where you live in Texas. Your generosity can ensure that the WLT can continue to support you by providing the latest information on publishing trends and continuing to promote the craft of writing through a multitude of programs, services, and events. We are here to give you what you need to succeed as a professional writer in an ever-changing industry.

As a non-profit organization, we need you just as much as you need us; helping each other, we can all succeed. We hope you’ll consider making a holiday contribution in one of the following ways:

  • Making a gift of any amount before the end of the year: All donations to WLT are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Even giving an extra $3 per month can make a huge difference. If every member were to donate at that level, the WLT would realize more than $45,000– which could help exponentially expand literary programming throughout Texas.
  • Upgrading your membership to the next level: Right now only, if you move up to the next level of membership or to an Associate Membership for Business, we will give you a gift certificate for $50, which you can apply towards any of our classes, workshops, or conferences (including the annual WLT Agents Conference or Summer Writing Retreat).
  • Purchasing a Writers’ League gift certificate: We are now offering a more streamlined gift certificate system. Memberships, workshops, and conference registrations can now be given as gifts to literary-minded loved ones for the holidays. Gift certificates in predetermined dollar amounts may also be purchased. Whatever you choose, recipients will receive a special code to use on any WLT event or product in our online store, making redemption easier than ever.

We want to make every year better than the last! With an entirely new staff and with the help of your generosity, we hope that 2010 will be another blooming year. We cannot wait to see what we can all do together in 2010 as we elevate the art of writing in Texas and in the world.

Thank you!
