Letters from the Program Director: Discouraged by Rejection? Can’t Find the Time?

Hello, writers!

The journey to achieving your writing goals is inundated with obstacles. You’re faced with rejection after rejection, discouragement and self-doubt, not to mention the highs and lows of simply living a life, which is why so much of reaching your writing goals lies in persistence, in keeping on even when it’s tough. Ray Bradbury said, “You fail only if you stop writing” and it’s true. We hear stories all the time of writers talking about how the 82nd submission was the one they got a yes on – if they’d stopped at 50 tries, 75 tries, they wouldn’t have gotten there. But when things are so hard, it’s easy to question whether you’re on the right path.

That’s why we’re excited to be offering the class Strategies for Staying the Course” with P.J. Hoover on Saturday, September 24th. If you’re discouraged by rejections and need a push to get you back on track, this class is for you.

All the best,
Sam Babiak
Program Director
