Letters from the Program Director: New Program Alert!

Hello writers,

This Saturday we’ll be kicking off a new program, WLT Saturday Craft Seminars, with one of our favorite writers and teachers, Matt Bell. His new craft book, Refuse to Be Done: How to Write and Rewrite a Novel in Three Drafts has been called “an essential, passionate guide to the art of the novel” and we can’t wait to be in the same room with Matt as he discusses his approach. We’ve also partnered with BookPeople, a local independent bookstore in Austin, Texas to ensure that every registrant gets a copy of this seminal craft book.

But the fun doesn’t stop there! This special seminar will not only include a presentation and a copy of the book, but we’ll also end the event with a short conversation between WLT Executive Director Becka Oliver and Matt Bell on the topic of writing a craft book and then we’ll open it up to the audience to ask their burning questions. Seriously, it’s going to be a really great time and you’ll walk away with actionable strategies for writing and rewriting any novel you set your mind to. Register by Friday, March 18th at 5:00 PM CDT and spend your Saturday morning diving into novel writing with us. And if you can’t make it but want to get in on the action, the event will be recorded and made available for one month. We hope to see you there!

All the best,
Sam Babiak
Program Director
