Scribe: In what genre(s) do you write?
Brannon Perkison: General Fiction, Young Adult Fiction, Historical Fiction, Children’s Picture Books…so far.
Scribe: What authors would you like to have coffee or a beer with and which beverage?
BP: A Gin and Tonic with Dave Eggers would be great, unless of course he doesn’t drink, in which case I’d be just fine with a latte!
Scribe: If you were stranded on a deserted island, what book would you want to have with you to keep you sane?
BP: Just one book?  I’d prefer to be stranded with my whole library!  But if I must choose—although most things I really like to read don’t keep me all that sane—I suppose I’d take the Lord of the Rings. For some reason, ever since I was a kid, I could read that book and feel better about the world.
Scribe: What have you learned from your association with the Writers’ League?
BP: I’ve learned that the journey to being an author is even more difficult than I imagined (and I imagined it to be difficult), but that there are a lot of great and interesting people out there who genuinely want to help.
Scribe: Where do you see your writing taking you (or you taking it) in the future?
BP: I see writing one novel a year for the rest of my life, and I hope that turns out to be a lot of books.
Scribe: Is there anything else about you that you would like to share with the world? An opportunity for blatant self-promotion!
BP: Yes, I’m thrilled to announce that my recently-published first novel, The Do-Nothing, has been named by IndieReader as one of the “Best Books of 2014” in the Mystery/Thriller category.
