Scribe: In what genre(s) do you write?
Connie Levy: Historical Fiction.
Scribe: What authors would you like to have coffee or a beer with and which beverage?
CL: I’d love to sit on an outside café drinking tea or coffee with either Geraldine Brooks or Alice McDermott. Both of my favorite writers grabbed my attention with their tales from the first page, their settings created times long past. Caleb’s Crossings’ Bethia and Caleb captured my heart. “A work of imagination inspired by work of fiction” as Ms Brooks said, defines for me what a good historical fiction is all about.
Scribe: If you were stranded on a deserted island, what book would you want to have with you to keep you sane?
CL: Little Women by Louisa May Alcott.
Scribe:  What have you learned from your association with the Writers’ League?
CL: Through writing classes taught by distinguished authors, Third Thursday meetings at Book People, the Summer Writing Retreat, and the Agents and Editors Conference, the Writers’ League creates a path for writers to follow their writing dreams.
Scribe: Where do you see your writing taking you (or you taking it) in the future?
CL:  Continuing to write poetry. I’ve also started a new novel after getting my start as a playwright. Three plays I wrote and directed were performed!
Scribe: Is there anything else about you that you would like to share with the world? An opportunity for blatant self-promotion!
CL: Winning the Historical Fiction manuscript contest in 2013 encouraged me to follow my dreams of being published, no matter how long it takes. Someone believed in me, so why shouldn’t I?
