Scribe: Welcome, writer! Tell us — what do you write?

Debbie Hibbert: YA Mystery/Romance

Scribe: If you could choose one author to blurb your book, who would it be, and what would you want it to say?

DH: Jennifer Lynn Barnes: “Someone please make this into a movie!”

Scribe: You have one book you’re allowed to push onto all of your friends, and they’re forced to read it to remain your friend — which one would you choose?

DH: And Then There Were None (Agatha Christie): One of the greatest mysteries ever written– a classic creating a precedent that many try to copy.

Scribe: Tell us your WLT story.

DH: During Covid, on a Zoom meet and greet through WLT, I met one of the best humans who ended up being a part of my writers group.

Scribe: Where do you see your writing taking you (or you taking it) in the future?

DH: I’m thrilled my debut novel is being published this year. In the future, I see the sequel coming out and (hopefully) releasing one book per year.

Scribe: Here at the WLT, we love sharing book recommendations. What’s one book that has come out within the past few years that you couldn’t put down? (Bonus points if the book is Texas related!)

DH: Everyone in my Family has Killed Someone (Benjamin Stevenson)

Scribe: Is there anything else about you that you would like to share with the world? An opportunity for blatant self-promotion!

DH: My debut novel, Necromancy the Musical, comes out September 26, 2023. “Wednesday” meets “High School Musical” in this YA mystery set in New Orleans.
