I love to write but was pulled away from it for years due to family illnesses but I am back and I am awesome!“

Scribe: Welcome, writer! Tell us — what do you write?

Donna Heilman: Poetry, essays, and urban fantasy.

Scribe: If you could choose one author to blurb your book, who would it be, and what would you want it to say?

DH:  Stephen King — “This highly original take on vampires and other creatures of the night kept me reading through the night. I loved it!”

Scribe: You have one book you’re allowed to push onto all of your friends, and they’re forced to read it to remain your friend — which one would you choose?

DH: THE UNBEARABLE LIGHTNESS OF BEING by Milan Kundera

Scribe: Tell us your WLT story.

DH: I found WLT through a post on Twitter. I checked out the website and the benefits of membership and jumped right in.

Scribe: Where do you see your writing taking you (or you taking it) in the future?

DH: I am finishing a passion project that I see being published. I also see a series of books coming from it.

Scribe: Here at the WLT, we love sharing book recommendations. What’s one book that has come out within the past year that you couldn’t put down? (Bonus points if the book is Texas related!)

DH: TEXAS RISING by Stephen L. Moore

Scribe: Is there anything else about you that you would like to share with the world? An opportunity for blatant self-promotion!

DH: I love to write but was pulled away from it for years due to family illnesses but I am back and I am awesome!
