“[I’m from] West (little town north of Waco). Most people know it as a good place to stop for kolaches when traveling south on 35.“

Scribe: Welcome, writer! Tell us — what do you write?
Jeffree Wyn Itrich: I’ve written a cookbook, children’s book, two novels, been in 12 Chicken Soup for the Soul books, and am under contract with C&T Publishing for a cozy novel coming out in Aug 2024.
Scribe: If you could choose one author to blurb your book, who would it be, and what would you want it to say?
JWI: Jennifer Chiaverini. Oh my gosh, I can’t even begin to think what I would want her to say. She’s so eloquent. I trust her to say the perfect thing.
Scribe: You have one book you’re allowed to push onto all of your friends, and they’re forced to read it to remain your friend — which one would you choose?
JWI: To Dance with the White Dog by Terry Kay. A friend introduced me to this short book. I read it probably a year ago, and I still think of it nearly every day. It’s a story of love, a bit of magic or perhaps it’s mystery, profound, gut-wrenching loss, faith, heartbreak, and ultimately, conviction and hope. The story is a simple one that paints a picture of what life is at its core.
Scribe: Tell us your WLT story.
JWI: Sorry. Not much to say about that. I just joined WLT because it looks like an interesting group to meet and interact with other writers.
Scribe: Where do you see your writing taking you (or you taking it) in the future?
JWI: More novels. And more stories in the Chicken Soup books.
Scribe: Here at the WLT, we love sharing book recommendations. What’s one book that has come out within the past year that you couldn’t put down? (Bonus points if the book is Texas related!)
JWI: I rarely read current releases. One of my fave books with a Texas theme didn’t come out in the last year: Between Heaven and Texas by Marie Bostwick. Loved it.
Scribe: Is there anything else about you that you would like to share with the world? An opportunity for blatant self-promotion!
JWI: In addition to writing, I am an avid quilter, I garden when it isn’t 108 degrees like today, I make mosaics, love to bake, and hang out with my dog and cat. I’m always writing and post stories on my writer’s blog one to two times a week: https://jeffreewynawriterslife.blogspot.com
