Scribe: Welcome, writer! Tell us — what do you write?
Maggie Foster: I write the Loch Lonach Mystery Series: Mysteries with a Scottish Slàinte, and the Loch Lonach Men in Kilts Clean Romance Series.
Scribe: If you could choose one author to blurb your book, who would it be, and what would you want it to say?
MF: Ellis Peters. “Ms. Foster has captured the heart of the Scottish diaspora in her excellent and entertaining series about the descendants of the Scots who settled in Texas in the mid 1800s. The series has everything; exciting adventures, clever plot twists, and engaging characters. The books are hard to put down, and it is hard to wait for the next in the series to appear. Good job!”
Scribe: You have one book you’re allowed to push onto all of your friends, and they’re forced to read it to remain your friend — which one would you choose?
MF: Brat Farrar by Josephine Tey
Scribe: Tell us your WLT story.
MF: I was at the 2019 TLA conference and found the WLT booth. I wheedled a “I’m a writer. What’s your superpower?” pin out then and was hooked.
Scribe: Where do you see your writing taking you (or you taking it) in the future?
MF: At least one new book per year. Hopefully with a much wider following than I currently have.
Scribe: Here at the WLT, we love sharing book recommendations. What’s one book that has come out within the past few years that you couldn’t put down? (Bonus points if the book is Texas related!)
MF: I tend to read dead authors.
Scribe: Is there anything else about you that you would like to share with the world? An opportunity for blatant self-promotion!
MF: I get emails from readers that make my heart glow. They say such nice things!
Scribe: Where can our readers find more of you?
MF: My Website, GoodReads, BookBub, Facebook Personal Page, Facebook Business Page, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn, Substack
