Welcome to Aevitas Academy!

Hi, WLT community!

Sam Babiak here. For those of you who don’t know me, I spent three years as the Program Director at WLT and absolutely loved getting the chance to build programming for writers looking to hone their craft and achieve their writing goals. During my tenure, we weathered the pandemic in 2020 and shifted the majority of our programming online, we hosted the Unconference for Writers, launched the Agents Symposium, and so much more. Now, I’m getting to do something similar from my new (maybe not so new anymore) perch at ACM, but with an emphasis on pulling back the curtain and offering publishing industry insight on a variety of topics from Aevitas agents and other publishing professionals via Aevitas Academy.

On Saturday, June 21, we’re hosting our next Aevitas Academy seminar: Query Letter Writing for Fiction Authors with literary agents Sarah Bowlin, Mary C. Moore, and Lori Galvin, moderated by yours truly. Attendees will get the chance to learn the elements and structure of a good query letter, including the preparation writers need to convincingly pitch projects, query letter dos and don’ts for fiction writers, and hear genre-specific advice from our expert agents. Attendees will also get to ask their burning questions during the Q&A portion of the seminar and will leave equipped with the tools they need to write their best query letter.

Tickets start at just $59, but the price jumps on Saturday, June 14, so we’re encouraging all WLT members to sign up now! We’re also excited to offer a discount to the WLT community, and you can email office@aevitascreative.com if you have any questions about this.

And even if this seminar isn’t quite for you and your current journey, we hope you’ll consider subscribing to the Aevitas Academy newsletter. Subscribers will be the first to hear about upcoming seminars, special discounts, and more. We are so excited to continue putting on quality programs for writers led by our agents, and we hope you’ll come along on this journey with us.

Warmly,

Sam Babiak
