Did you know the classical music world is flush with commission money and constantly on the lookout for great texts?
Writing poetic texts for classical composers is not a farfetched dream. In this introductory icebreaker, multimedia artist and producer Todd Boss will debunk myths and clarify pathways to rewarding collaborations that lead to potent works of art that can take you from a concert hall to the Grammy Awards, as it has for him. Topics will include:
- The difference between texts and texts written for voice
- Skills you’ll need to collaborate with a composer
- What opportunities exist for writers of classical music texts
- What a contract might look like
- How pay structures work
- How to get involved & meet future collaborators
